Our Month of Giving Back: November

It became an obsession with me to actually find the best deal for less, I would tell everyone and people would roll their eyes and family members would plainly tell me to shut up.

I was becoming really obnoxious about, until I was talking to the librarian at a local branch and he said, type it up as a program and let's present it to the branch manager.

I did exactly that thinking that I was going to teach adults and it would be a "Ladies who lunch type of program."

But it was teens at their Teen Center, YIKES.... I never taught kids and I thought kids would hate me really.

I spent one month of prepping, researching on teen psychology and adult teen interactions, researching NYS laws regarding minors and what I can say and not say, do or not do, etc.

Then it was show time, the director of the center was with me all the time as one should be and I was so nervous, but the teens not only liked me but they enjoyed the information.

We priced out Thanksgiving Dinner with a budget of …

Our Fall Picks...

We know we were being melodramatic and not fun or lighthearted as we normally are...

Here are a few things that we know are fab for the fall and holiday season...

Subscription Boxes:

Vine Oh!

I have ordered from this place around five times... at first their intro price was 12.95 but they had me hooked for real...

Here is what you get:
2 bottles of wine with an option of one or two extra, they are so good that I have had several people tell me their guests wanted to know where I got that wine!

The wines are premium and they are seasonal as well.

But, it comes with a Oh Now box, geared for women, but it is amazing!

What I love about the box is it's value and seasonality!!!

Fab Fit Fun

Everyone knows this box, it is quarterly but …

Why we still need libraries NOW!!

The average 35 year old would think why would I need to go to a library?

There is the Internet right???

Well, NO there isn't only 10 percent of American households have WiFi or Internet access and if you are a child and you go to an after school program then, Internet access is not at all cool when you are legally not allowed to be alone until after the age 18.

So, you ask a library?

Yes library not only still provide great places to get lost in a books, but it is a great and safe place for children to meet. In fact most libraries now have teen centers where teens are separate from adults and adults can't go into the teen area they are password protected areas, really. (High tech stuff).

Teens can learn new skills, do their homework,  college prep, play games, and even do live podcasts!! Who knew...

Having a baby...

There are classes for that as well, a lactation specialist would come in and show individuals the importance of not only breastfeeding, but what if the baby doesn&…

Style Collective: Digital Landscape Arrived

We're back... We covered Fashion Month in NYC and it was amazing!

All I can say is expect to see ultra feminine, loads of sequins and people expressing their cultural point of view.

The event that really put things into perspective for us was Style Collective, the bloggers event that kicked off Fashion Week.

The Reality of the New Digital Landscape:

Bloggers from all over the country was there and ready to be seen and heard!

Many of the bloggers are new, some in college, some taking blogging as a college course and others who just wanted to get into the shows for free.

Well, it is true that the digital landscape is far out pacing traditional media, when I started five years ago, I was laughed out of NYFW and the only events I could go to was Tech events.

Now, bloggers are getting major book deals, endorsements, and they are far out pacing the traditional celebrity in many ways.

There will always be sports hero's because you can replace tennis, soccer, or football... so sports…
